What is the Isolaz treatment?
The Isolaz is an in-office procedure used to clear out your pores and kill the p. acnes bacteria that leads to acne. There are two components to the Isolaz treatment, a gentle suction that cleans your pores, and a light that simultaneous destroys the p. acnes bacteria.
Is there any downtime after the Isolaz treatment? Does it hurt?
The Isolaz is a quick and pain-free procedure. Most patients have absolutely no downtime, though some patients may be mildly “rosy” after the treatment. This can easily be covered with makeup. Isolaz treatments do not make your skin more sensitive to the sun and you may continue your normal skin care routine, even on the day of the treatment. Your skin will have a radiant glow after the Isolaz procedure, in addition to decreasing future acne and improving the appearance of active acne on the skin.
Who is an appropriate candidate for Isolaz therapy?
The Isolaz is a safe and appropriate treatment for all skin types. It can be used for very severe acne, such as pustular scarring acne, as well as for comedones (blackheads and whiteheads) and mild acne. The Isolaz provides a deep pore cleansing that can benefit even patients without active acne.
How many Isolaz treatments are needed?
Each patient receives a customized combination of treatments, specific to the acne treatment needs. The Isolaz is most effective when performed as a series of 5 treatments, though it is often combined with other treatments, such as Photodynamic Therapy and Blue/Red Light Therapy for maximum benefit.
