Acne Remedies for “Bacne”
As Memorial Day weekend approaches, many of our patients are becoming concerned about acne flares on the body. These acne flares on chest and back, aka “bacne”, can be difficult to treat with OTC acne treatments. Dr. Schweiger recommends that patients with “bacne” use a combination of in-office treatments and prescription medications to clear up their acne quickly. He explains that, “A combination of oral or topical antibiotics, in addition to benzoyl peroxide works very well for treatment of acne at home. The Isolaz laser and Photodynamic Therapy are effective in-office acne remedies for patients with body acne.”
The Isolaz Laser and Photodynamic Therapy can be performed in a series of weekly treatments to clear up body acne quickly. The treatments take approximately 30 minutes in the office. There is no downtime after these acne treatments to the body, but patients must avoid sun exposure for 24-48 hours after Photodynamic Therapy. The quickest fix for body acne, or bacne, is a combination of prescription medications and in-office treatments.
